Dr. S.N. Mehta (Dr. Sapna Negi) is a distinguished bioscientist whose research contributions span the domains of Zoology, Nematology, and advanced molecular diagnostics. She earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Biosciences, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, in 2007, where she was awarded the prestigious HPU-JRF. She also qualified the highly competitive Joint CSIR–UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) in 2004, reflecting her strong academic foundation.

Following her doctoral work, Dr. Negi pursued an esteemed Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Institute of Forest Protection, Nanjing Forestry University, China (January 2008 – November 2010). During this tenure, she engaged in cutting-edge research that broadened her global scientific perspective and deepened her expertise in forest ecosystem protection and molecular-level organismal interactions.

Dr. Negi has an impressive body of work published in reputed national and international journals, showcasing her sustained commitment to high-quality research. She is an active member of the Nematological Society of India and has been consistently involved in collaborative and interdisciplinary scientific initiatives.

Her primary research interests lie in the morphological and molecular characterization of plant-parasitic nematodes, with specialized expertise in PCR-based analytical methods, including ITS-RFLP. Her work significantly advances the understanding of nematode taxonomy, diagnostics, and plant–pathogen interactions, contributing to improved agricultural and ecological management practices.

Widely respected in her field, Dr. Sapna Negi continues to be recognized for her scientific rigor, international exposure, and meaningful contributions to contemporary bioscience research.
